Fall is finally here! And I'm so excited for cozy evenings at home spent cooking delicious meals and enjoying them with a glass of wine. Speaking of wine, I want to share with you a new wine membership club I recently discovered. If you are a wine enthusiast or just someone who, like me, loves discovering new wines but feels overwhelmed by so many choices and doesn't feel like committing to a full bottle, then I suggest you check out VINEBOX.
For years I've been saying that London is my favorite city, even though I had never visited it until a few weeks ago. From what I had read online, seen on TV, and heard from friends, I just knew that this city is perfect. I'm so glad my little dream finally came true, and I got to spend a few days there. This trip was very special also because I was traveling alone for the first time - something I thought I'd never do. I ended up enjoying it quite a bit (well except for the part where I had to carry my huge suitcase up and down the stairs all by myself). Here are some highlights from my three days in London.
It was my birthday couple of weeks ago, and my husband surprised me with a weekend getaway to Bar Harbor, Maine. I believe that trips, even if they are just short ones, are the best presents you can ever get because things break or go out of fashion, but memories stay with you forever. So we headed to Bar Harbor, one of the few places in New England we hadn't yet explored since moving to Boston. Bar Harbor is a town on Mount Desert Island and home to the largest parts of Acadia National Park, including Cadillac Mountain.
Iceland has been on my bucket list for as long as I can remember - even before it became such a popular travel destination. I have always been attracted to Icelandic music and wanted to see the places that inspired my favorite musicians. This March I finally got a chance to visit Iceland with my husband, Tom. And this trip has been everything I had ever hoped for and even more.
Copenhagen has been my dream destination for such a long time. And finally, after seeing the movie Danish Girl, I decided - it's time to visit this pretty city. Even before going there, I knew I'd fall in love with Copenhagen. And I was right. For a girl like me who loves compact cities with rich histories and beautiful architecture, Copenhagen is the perfect place to be. It's so vibrant, full of life and, at the same time, it feels cozy and intimate. If you're planning a trip there, here are some of my suggestions for you.
Another favorite place from our trip to Copenhagen - Wulff & Konstali. It's a small chain with three locations. We went to the one that's located inside the Waterfront Shopping center in Hellerup. It's a little far from the city center (we took a bus there), but going there was definitely worth it. The place is very spacious with lots of seats and natural light. I fell in love with the interior the moment I saw it. There are so many beautiful wooden and concrete tables with fresh flowers on each of them. Also, this restaurant is located in a nice area - you can take a walk by the water and if you feel like doing a little bit of shopping, all the wonderful shops are right there. If I lived in Copenhagen, I would definitely come here a lot!
