I had been dreaming about visiting Amsterdam for such a long time, and this year my dream finally came true! Amsterdam was everything I'd imagined it to be and even better. It was one of those trips when you fall in love with your destination the minute you step out of the plane. Out of all cities I've been to, Amsterdam is definitely the most beautiful one, with its unique architecture, lovely coffee shops and many canals. Unfortunately, it was a short visit, so my husband and I decided not to spend our time visiting museums and doing other "touristy" things. Instead, we ended up just wandering around the streets with no final destination in mind, stopping for quick coffee breaks, and taking pictures of every bicycle standing next to a pretty door.
We wandered around the Jordaan. It's one of the prettiest neighborhoods in Amsterdam with lots of cute shops and cafes. We enjoyed our time walking around those narrow streets, imagining what it would be like to actually live there.
We spent an afternoon in the Vondel Park and were amazed by the amount of people riding their bikes there! The atmosphere in this park is very joyful and relaxed. Next time we're in Amsterdam I want to have a picnic there.
We took a boat tour. After a long day of walking our legs felt really tired, so taking the evening boat tour was a great idea. It's a good way to see a lot of the city quickly and learn something new about its history.
We went to the top of Oude Kerk (The Old Church). It is both the oldest church and the oldest building in Amsterdam, located in the center of the Red Light District. The view from the top of this church is incredibly picturesque.
We stopped in a lot of coffee shops and had the best lattes ever. And we just had a great time!
I can't wait to come back and see more of this gorgeous city!
